Map of Iceland on Já.is

Our website now has a detailed map of Iceland accessible for all visitors to ja.is. It shows the locations of companies or people. You can also search for goods and services such as restaurants, accommodation, hairdressing salons or anything else that occurs to you. The search results appear in a search window and also in information windows that pop up on the map. Click on an information window to enlarge it and see more detailed information about the respective company.

 

You can choose to see the map as an aerial view of Iceland or as a graphical map with detailed information such as contour lines and major landmarks.

 

Mark your starting point and destination and receive a best route suggestion. Please note that this suggestion will not take into account the weather or winds. Roads may also be closed for some reason (mountain roads are closed during wintertime). Já is not responsible for the route finder’s suggestions, which are made according to the information available at the time.

 

You can send the route finder’s suggested route and directions to any e-mail address free of charge. Registered users can send the suggestion as a text message, which will be subject to a small charge. The charge is made according to the Já.is price list that applies at the time.

 

The interactive distance calculator allows you to accurately measure the distance between two points. Select the tool and then click the start point and destination on the map to measure the distance between them. The length will be displayed in the window on the left-hand side where there are also buttons to clear the window and remove the last point entered. Double-click on the map to finish using the tool.

 

You can also search the map for place names, making the Já Map of Iceland one of the most effective mapping tools available to the general public.
