Já í símann (Já for mobile)

Install a simple application in your mobile phone and see who is calling, whether or not they are listed on your phone’s contact list. The application connects instantly to Já so that you can see caller information: name, phone number and address. 

Works on most new mobile phones with Android (1.6+) or Symbian operating systems. 

Does not work on iPhone, Windows Mobile or BlackBerry.

Download and try the application free of charge. Use it for free for the first month. If you choose to activate the application, the service will cost ISK 149 per month. You will be charged for each month in which you use the service. The charge becomes payable the first time you use the service each month after your trial period is finished.
 

Download Já í símann

Open mja.is/nb (or http://ja.is/nafnabirtir/) in your mobile phone’s browser and click the appropriate link for your model to start downloading the application to your phone.

Some practical points:

• The web address for mobiles is mja.is/nb – much simpler to enter.
• Your phone must have an active 3G or Wi-Fi connection for Já í símann to work while the call is being made. The 3G symbol is usually visible on your phone’s screen.
• If only 2G or GPRS is available, the application will look up the number at the end of the phone call.
• If you SIM card is an older type you may need to contact your phone provider to upgrade to a newer type of SIM card to obtain an optimum 3G connection.
• To activate Já í símann, start the application and accept the terms and conditions.
• To see the list of calls, open Já í símann.
• You can search Já.is using Já í símann.
