We have come to the summer of 1930. The US crisis after the Wall Street crash begins to spread to Europe.

But it is still to much for the small seaside hotel where Mrs. Andersen and her girls opens its doors for the regulars, who once again have come together to enjoy the summer and the cheerful holiday atmosphere .

But behind closed doors , the reality is quite different. Merchants Madsen is bankrupt and trying desperately to get back into the business track. Count Ditmar struggling to maintain his marriage to hide his homosexuality. Actor Weyse has a secret relationship with a very young actor -student and manufacturer Frigh have awakened the midlife crisis , his wife otherwise thought was under control.

Everyone is preoccupied with their own and places do not even notice that there are big changes coming in from our German neighbors.
