The year is 1939 and Franklin D. Roosevelt is getting his home at Hyde Park on Hudson in New York ready for a royal visit from England. Europe is on the verge of war, and the British monarch is desperate to get the United States' support in the coming war against Germany. It will be an unforgettable weekend, where grand political intrigues are mixed with the relationships between the residents of the small home, their servants and not least their neighbor, and FDR's confidant, Daisy, who is the story's narrator.
