Stephen King's brick of a novel gets another film adaptation, this time in a 9-episode miniseries. When the biological weapon, a flu virus known as Captain Trips, escapes, 99 percent of the world's population is wiped out. The few survivors who were immune now face new challenges, including from the demonic Randall Flagg, their worst nightmare embodied in the form of a man with a deadly smile and unspeakable powers! But there is also hope in the form of the 108-year-old mother Abagail, who is trying to gather the survivors so that humanity can start over.
